About WBLA

The Westside Business Leaders Association was organized in 1977 and incorporated in 1979. Since then, we have had many important accomplishments. We are an organization with a rich tradition and many successes, but we live in the present and look toward the future.

Our organization is about making the Westside community better and building our businesses. We are eager for new ideas to make this happen, but certain fundamentals will always guide us. These are integrity, motivation, enthusiasm and continuous learning.

The WBLA has a charitable heart, and gives throughout the year. We give to individuals and groups, but most of our emphasis is on education. We give several scholarships each year to encourage young people to embark on post-secondary education. We are always looking for other opportunities to make education a priority for youth on the Westside.

Our Association also wants to help businesses on the Westside. We seek to improve macroeconomic conditions, and to encourage members to do business with one another. The Westside has a business to serve any need you may have, and the good people on our side of town are trustworthy and will do the job right the first time.

We also have speakers that you will want to hear. We have speakers at our Regular Meetings (on the second Thursday of each month at noon – watch the Newsletters page for exact dates and locations), and speakers at our Morning Coffees (at a member’s place of business each month at 7:30 a.m.). These speakers are sometimes relevant to business insight, while at other times they give you an idea of the good things going on in the community.

The best way to know us is to jump right in. Our membership co-chairpersons will give you more information about our Association, but if you come out to a meeting, you will see our fun and productive meetings in action.
